For longer than I can remember, I've been my happiest drawing.
My points of interest have done its fair share of exploration. From story boarding to fine art painting, art education to concept art. From comic book styles to renaissance, anime to vintage pinup. Graphite to acrylic, digital to watercolor. Each of these a stepping stone in my own childhood creative journey.
My childhood consisted of art camps high and low, drawing over assignments, and a lifetime of Art Teachers i could never seem to befriend. The unstaedy climb to my future skillset, that never-ending persuit of knowledge against rudimentary intiution, it feeds the human soul and guides our spirits. I believe creatives possess a certain joy, an unmistakable misery, and a particular wisdom that cannot exist without the others. Those with a creative mind live closer to humanity than any immortal being who stays within his own logics, could ever hope to.
In High School I had the honor of competing in the Governors Honors Program. This experince is one I hold dearly, teaching me about the art world outside my sketchbook. I met douzens of established artists in their own respective feilds, phasing through series of interviews and critiques. Through local, district, state and national levels, I passed through to the final round. Some of my portfolio from this time can be seen in the Traditional Work subsect of my page.
I take any opportunity there is to associate with other creatives, like-minded people, and art-lovers seeking out work to call their own.
It is not just my own process of creation I call home; my love for Art History, Critique, Exhibition and Collaboration runs deep. Muesems, class rooms, and team work spaces are my happy places.
